Bridging law enforcement, criminology, forensic psychology, academic research and public policy to understand complex social problems — and turn evidence into better decisions.
Orillia, Ontario, CanadaProfile
I am an Associate Professor in the Criminology program at Lakehead University’s Orillia campus. My work is shaped by a career that began in law enforcement and evolved through forensic psychology, research, teaching, policy analysis and program evaluation.
After serving as Deputy Inspector and Inspector with the Turkish National Police, I moved into academia and completed graduate work in criminology and a PhD in Forensic Psychology. My research focuses on program evaluation in criminal justice, policing, investigative interviewing, indigenous justice, prison chaplaincy, radicalization, and hate crimes.
Today, I bring that multidisciplinary perspective to the classroom, applied research and public-sector decision-making — connecting rigorous methods with the realities of institutions, communities and practitioners.
